My Story

Like many teens about to graduate highschool - I had no idea what I wanted or what to do once I graduated. My "home" situation was a little bleak. I didn't have women role models to look up to and I was hungry for support and inspiration. Then the universe spoke and showed me the light. I was offered a job at a local State Farm agency. This agency was run by a fierce woman named Jane. Jane, little did I know, was exactly what I was looking for. She was one of the very few female agents in our county. In fact, during the year (80's) she was recruited, she was the only woman who was given the opportunity to own and run an agency. I admired her energy, effortless kindness, and killer drive. She was/is basically a badass! I wanted to be like her. She and I connected in such an extraordinary way. She taught me so much about being an independent woman and taught me so many foundational things to make my own way in this world. I fell in love with insurance under her watch. Insurance was perfect because I learned to use my anxiety as a superpower. Anxiety makes you think of the worst case scenario. This is such a helpful tool when helping people manage their risks.

In addition, it was something that will always be needed, constantly changing making it challenging and necessary to keep learning, and I could have my own business doing this. By the end of my journey with Jane (she retired) I knew that I, too, wanted to have my own agency/business.

After she retired I continued to work with State Farm for a few years. Then I decided to join the "other side" of property and casualty insurance- the independent agency. I joined a great team of people at an independent agency here in Lakeland, FL. I learned so much and found a new love for insurance. Real quick- there are different lines of insurance- personal and commercial. In the beginning of my career my focus was personal lines. When I went to an independent agency I chose the commercial side. I want to be well rounded in both areas. I wanted to be able to offer a wider range of expertise to my future clients.

My next move was to go off on my own. My biggest dream was to have my own business and to be an example for other young women. I am a licensed insurance professional who has a passion to help people understand the importance of insurance to protect them, their business, and their families. I also want to see other women chase after their dreams and succeed. To talk about mental health and how anxiety can be used as a superpower. I know we can achieve wonderful things and help others along the way. We can do hard things.
